Another month has come and gone already! But you know what that means! We're that much to closer warmer weather!! Before long, the trails of the beautiful Natural Bridge & gorgeous Red River Gorge will be filled with people from all of the world. We're almost through the cold months which means the really cool Wild Things! of Kentucky Gem Mine will be back open soon. They open up in March this year so be sure to get ready and bring the kids down for a fun filled day! Check out this video to see how exciting it is! It's almost Valentines Day!

January is almost over and Valentines Day will be here before you know it. If you are still searching for something to get your significant other look no further than here at Five Star Cabin Rental in the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park Area. We still have some charming cabins open for that weekend! They are booking fast. There will be a few events here in the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park area other than hiking our beautiful area. On Valentines Day the Natural Bridge State Park will be having a Prime Rib buffet. Then that night you can kick up your heels and spend the night dancing at the Valentines Day Square Dance.  If you have ever came in the summer and enjoyed the square dance at Hoedown Island you will love the Valentines Day Square Dance. The admission for that will be $3 per person.

After spending a day hiking, and square dancing what is better than going back to cozy cabin and spending the night next to the fireplace or in a hot tub. I personally can’t think of any. So if that interest you be sure to check us out. Our cabins offer that and more. We also have cabins with pool tables and Jacuzzi tubs.  We will be in the office tonight until 8pm. Cozy Cabins in the Red River Gorge

Happy Sunday everyone! We hope you've enjoyed your weekend & depending on where you live the weather. Here at Natural Bridge State Park & Red River Gorge we received a couple inches of snow. Despite the cold temperatures this weekend our guests loved seeing the snow covered mountains & the beautiful scenery that came with it. We had alot of our guests stay with us over the weekend that took part in our "Cabin Fever Special." Don't forget we have that special going on until February 5th. First "big" snow of the season!

Good Morning All!

What a beautiful sight it is here at the Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge area today! We got a few inches of snow and it's a breathtaking scene! See my pictures taken this morning below! If the cold/snow isn't for you, come stay in one of our fully equipped cabins tonight and stay warm next to a cozy wood burning or gas fireplace. Don't forget to bring the coffee with you! It's always relaxing to drink a nice cup of hot coffee on these cold winter days! Our maintenance team has been hard at work this morning getting the roads cleared, so don't let that stand in your way of coming to visit us on this gorgeous day!

Season in the Red River Gorge

Since I have worked here at Five Star Cabin Rental I have been asked countless times “Are you familiar with the area?” Each time I explain that I was born and raised here in the Red River Gorge and NaturalBridge State Park area. That is always followed by “Can you tell me how to get to (insert trail name here)?” . None ever stop to think about how the different weather conditions may affect the views or the experience of some of the other trails in the Red River Gorge.

The wintertime in the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State park is absolutely beautiful. After we have receive a little bit of snow my favorite places to go are Sky Bridge and Natural Bridge. The high elevation of both places give you the picture perfect view of all the snow covered hills and trees. Sky Bridge is a very easy hike at only .17 mile and takes maybe 30 minutes to walk. For the Natural Bridge you can take the Original Trail. This trail take approximately 45 minutes and it about 1.7 miles

.

Spring will be here before long and we tend to get plenty of rain which is great for the two waterfalls that are located in the Red River Gorge. They are Creation Falls and Kaner Falls. You can get to the Creation falls by taking the Rock Bridge Loop Trail #207. Kaner Falls is a little harder to get to. It is located off the Swift Camp Creek Trail.

In the summer after you have been exploring the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park you should check out Jump Rock. Jump Rock is located off the Sheltowee Trace Suspension Bridge Trail. There you can go to the top of the rock and jump into the water below and swim. It is a nice way to cool down on a hot day. While there you should venture out a little further and experience the Suspension Bridge.

No matter what time of year there is plenty of things to see and do here in the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park area. Beautiful Day!

Just a couple of days ago, we were experiencing the first snow of the season and today we're having nearly 60 degree temperatures! Weather can be so unpredictable! Luckily, no matter the weather, 5 Star Cabin Rentals has cabins to suit your needs! We offer a wide variety of amenities and have some of the best locations you'll find in the area!

It's been a busy day here in Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge. With above normal temperatures and clear blue skies, who can blame them! Take a look at our live cam of the area to see for yourself! I've been in contact with the Wild Things! Of Kentucky today also, and they've been very busy as well! When you're in the area, be sure to stop and check them out! A newly remodeled store and a huge new shipment of the coolest merchandise you'll find in the area, makes for a great adventure!

The Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge State Park area has had some light snow falling throughout the day today. I've been watching out our front window and it is such a pretty sight to see. I've had customer's come in our gift shop to purchase firewood to keep warm with the temperature's right at freezing! Personally I have stayed close to the heater & have been enjoying my hot chocolate from our Keurig to keep warm :)
