Lots of exciting updates!

We're down to only 18 days left until the first day of Spring! The Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge area is really starting to pick back up! With that being said, some of our seasonal businesses are opening up for season soon and we are so excited! The awesome Miguel's Pizza opened back up for season on February 27th, and the cool Red River Rockhouse will be opening up for season this week on March, 5th! Come on down and enjoy some of Red River Rockhouse's delicious burgers or some of Miguel's sundry pizza toppings! The Sky lift at the Natural Bridge will be opening up on March 28th! Talk about a beautiful sight!

April will be an exciting month for the Wild Things of Kentucky! Our gem & gold mines opens up for season and our "Goats on the Roof" will return! Fill up an ice cream cone full of goat food and send it up to them, they love it! Wild Things of Kentucky has a new contemporary outhouse open to the public also coming the first of April! Whether you have "to go" or not, be sure to stop by and visit Ernie the bathroom attendant. This outhouse is the first of its kind in Kentucky and probably the whole US! The nature center is open everyday, so stop by and see some creepy crawlers or just take a look at the gift shop that has some of the most unique merchandise in the area.

It's also time again for the Natural Bridge State Resort Park's monthly First Friday Seafood Buffet! It will be served this Friday March 6th from 4:00 - 8:00 PM! If visiting, you can enjoy crab legs, fried shrimp, clam strips, fried catfish, baked Alaska and much more! Yummy!

For something exciting to do in the Red River Gorge, on March 21st at the Gladie Visitor Center, they'll be having "Building for Bluebirds". This free event is fun for all ages and helps provide nesting areas for bluebirds. Build your box and take it home to help bluebirds in your area!

All of these awesome things are opening up just in time for spring break! Making Memories in the Red River Gorge!

It's almost Friday! I'm sure you know what that means? It's just about time to head to your favorite vacation place, Red River Gorge! The scenery is changing (slowly but surely), and it's a breathtaking site! We're still having perfect temperatures too, so if you haven't already made plans to visit the Natural Bridge area yet, I'd make them now!

Every now and then, I'll get asked by a customer, if because I live here, if I feel like I take the Red River Gorge / Natural Bridge area for granted. I never really thought much about it, but now that I have, I must admit that I do. It's such an amazing place to experience and such an incredible view to see. I am often too busy to slow down and take it all in. This year, however, I've taken time out to take that scenic drive down Route 77 through Nada Tunnel, and walked with my daughter to the Suspension Bridge. We made great memories that will last a last time already this season, and I encourage you to do the same. On Suspension Bridge Trail (which is part of the Sheltowee Trace), you walk right beside the Red River on the trail that leads to the bridge. After all the rain that we have gotten the last few days, the river was up and flowing fast. Such a pretty site to see. We also passed next to "Jump Rock" (local name), that is a popular spot in the Gorge.

We talk a lot about the hiking trails here in the area and all of the beauty and wonder it has to offer, but there are plenty of other things to do here in the area also. There's a couple of zip lines in the area to experience a much different view that is absolutely awesome! There are several gift shops in the Natural Bridge area to take home that perfect gift for the special people in your lives or just to find the perfect souvenir to remember your trip by. The Sky Lift will take you up to the Natural Bridge in a breathtaking 22 minute ride. There's Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure for the rock climber in your life, and last but certainly not least, there are some really great local places to eat. There is the Red River Rockhouse, Froggy Bottom Diner, BBQ & Brews, Miguel's Pizza and the Sandstone Arches restaurant in the Natural Bridge State Park Lodge.
