It is a bit chilly today in the Red River Gorge Geological Area. Winter has finally found us! We're supposed to have some absolutely frigid temperatures in the next few days! Despite the temperatures, there is still a lot to see at Natural Bridge and the Red River Gorge this time of year. You can see the Red River Gorge without even leaving the comfort of your warm car! There is a forty-five to sixty minute driving loop you can use to see all the wonderful sights of the Gorge! You can drive through Nada Tunnel, a man-made tunnel that a train used to go through!

We still have the 'Celebration Promo' running through the months of January and February. All you have to do is call our office and book two nights in a cabin and you can receive a third night for free! Your stay must be consecutive, cannot fall on a holiday weekend or weekday (Valentine's Day or President's Day), and can only be used on new reservations only.

Now Presenting Red River Gorge Ranch House

The snow is flying here in the Red River Gorge. You can tell that Christmas is on it's way! What better way to celebrate the holidays than by staying in a gorgeous cabin here in the Daniel Boone National Forest?! We also have a new house called Red River Gorge Ranch House #1! It has a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, stove and a refrigerator. It has two private queen bedrooms and another private bedroom equipped with bunk beds. Labor Day is near...

Good afternoon everyone. It has turned out to be yet another beautiful day here in the Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge. Soon the leaves will start to change and summer will officially come to an end. Come visit and enjoy the "green" and all of the awesome activities in the area while you still can. There's no wrong time to visit the Gorge!!

Labor Day weekend is one of our busiest holidays of the year in Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge.  The area will be exceedingly active. Although it's the last weekend for a couple of area activities (until next year that is), Labor Day marks the beginning of the NFL and college football seasons and is also the first three day weekend after school starts! It's also a major sale weekend. Let's not forget the reason for this national holiday though, the celebration of the American labor movement. Labor Day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.

As I mentioned, Labor Day weekend is one on our busiest times. People come from all over to visit the area, and to celebrate with their family and friends. It sure is a lovely day here in Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge. Would be a wonderful day for a hike. Some of my favorite place to hike are Sky bridge, Chimney Top Rock and Princess Arch. All are pretty short but are worth it. The views are incredible. Also don't forget about Nada Tunnel. Below you will find a picture of the tunnel. Can you believe that trains use to go thru there???

Today is beautiful! The temperature and blue skies together make for a perfect day. It feels more like Fall today. It's a perfect day to visit The Red and do some hiking. I personally am very excited for fall to arrive. It doesn't get much better than that around here. Campfires, s'mores, hoodies, beautiful scenery... pretty much everything you need to make unforgettable memories with those you love most.

Summer's almost gone...

   

     We were in full swing here at 5 Star Cabin Rentals this past weekend. It has been one of the busiest summers we've seen in awhile at Red River Gorge. The cabins and campgrounds alike have stayed booked up during summer break. We had the pleasure of meeting guests from all over the world, including Germany. That's one of my favorite things about working/living in this area, the wonderful people we meet on a daily basis. The old saying is true, you learn something new everyday!

     Even though summer is coming to an end soon, don't forget about the most loved season, fall! The Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge area are at their peak during October. It sure is a beautiful day here in Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge. Not to hot there's a nice breeze blowing. A perfect day for a hike. So what are you waiting for come on down and see us. Summer Time!

It's been so busy here in the Red River Gorge the last couple of weekends! July is our second busiest month of the year, and we love it! It's so exciting to meet all of the new people that come down for their first time and also very exciting to see our return customers.

Beautiful and busy weekend!!!

It sure is going to be a beautiful weekend here in Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge! A great time for a nice hike or to sit and relax by the pool at natural bridge state park. Speaking of hiking, I had the luxury of take a hike over the weekend. I did the balanced rock trail at Natural Bridge State Park. It is a beautiful hike that takes you up to the Natural Bridge. You get to see a lot of nice sights. It's not that long of a hike either I want to say roughly a mile.

Also don't forget about our Wild Things of KY gift shop, where you can see a live animal display which includes snakes, turtles, spiders and lots more. Then when you get done going thru that browse our gift shop where we have lots to choose from. Including homemade fudge, t-shirts, jewelry, and lots more. Then we have our goats on a roof. Which I must say is a lot of fun, the little goats are so cute and love love love to eat. So stop by and give them a nice little snack that you can purchase inside the gift shop.

Then once your done doing all that your going to need a place to sit back and relax. That's where we come in. Hello all! It's the start to a beautiful day! Perfect way to spend a Saturday and an even better start to Spring Break week! Easter Sunday is looking even better! It's nice to see the clear blue skies after the clouds and storms we've had the last day or so.

Cool Facts!

Good afternoon everyone! Snow, Snow & More Snow!

Happy Monday everyone!

I'm not sure about where you are, but here at Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge, we're being covered up by snow today! We hadn't had much a winter at all this season, but it's definitely making up for it now! We're already up to around 5 inches and a lot more accumulation is expected! Check out our live cam on our website to stay updated on the current weather conditions and keep track of all of this snow! If you have to be out driving in it today, we hope for safe travels for you all. If, like most, you have a snow day, have lots of fun!

Good Morning! What an awesome day it will be! We're expecting temperatures in the mid 50's and no rain in sight today! What a perfect day to come explore the Natural Bridge and enjoy the many trails of Red River Gorge! 

Just a bit of information to share today. The Gladie Learning Center in the Red River Gorge is temporarily closed to public visitation. Forest Service officials decided to close the center due to power line maintenance and construction needs.. The center is expected to reopen on March 9, resuming the summer schedule for visitation from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.

Maps, firewood permits, and recreation fee passes for back country camping on the national forest lands in the Red River Gorge are available at the Stanton office, 705 West College Avenue. Recreational fee passes are also available at several convenience store locations in the area. 


Next weekend at the Natural Bridge State Resort Park in the Twin Arches Restaurant, they'll be holding a special Valentines Day dinner! Bring your sweetheart down and grab some dinner! They'll also be hosting they're annual Valentines Day Dance that's fun for everyone! After all the excitement for the day, you can nestle into one of our many luxurious cabins for the evening! Fully equipped with fireplaces, Jacuzzi's, hot tubs, WiFi, full kitchens, pool tables, fire pits, etc,. it's sure to be the perfect ending to a romantic getaway! <3

First "big" snow of the season!

Good Morning All!

What a beautiful sight it is here at the Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge area today! We got a few inches of snow and it's a breathtaking scene! See my pictures taken this morning below!
