It looks like winter has officially found us! It's only in the 30's today and we've seen flurries flying all morning. While it's a beautiful sight to see, it's also pretty rigid to be out in. Looks like we may have a chance at a beautiful, white Christmas after all this year! I was starting to get worried, we'd remained for the most part in the 60's and 70's so far!! It was great holiday weekend here in Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge! I'm so glad the weather stayed beautiful and everyone was able to have an enjoyable weekend. It was the perfect weather to visit the pool in theNatural Bridge State Resort Park that opened up this weekend! I do hope everyone had a safe and fun couple of days!

Check out the pictures I posted of a little black bear! They were sent to me just this morning from one of our guests in a cabin. They said "it was quite the wake up call!" These guests made my day with these pictures. Such a beautiful animal! I had heard that we'll be seeing a lot more sightings in the next few years! I think that's so exciting!

You can also decide to walk the trail if you don't want to opt for the sky lift ride. Either way, it is a beautiful view that you can see for what seems like miles. This is also a very popular place to watch the sunset & sunrise. Keep that in mind when visiting the area!

The Red River Gorge area is popular for the scenic route drive that takes you through the Nada Tunnel on Route 77 around the clifty wilderness and many popular trails. Pick up a map at our gift shop of the Red River Gorge to help you find your way around. We also sell "Hiking the Red" which is a very informative book on the trails in the Red River Gorge and gives you detailed information on each one.

Cool Facts!

Good afternoon everyone! It has some very neat facts about our beautiful Red River Gorge! You may know some, but I definitely learned a few things!

As you can imagine with the clear blue skies today, Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge is hopping! It's a perfect day to go hiking, rock climbing, zip lining or just relax in a cabin! It's a little chilly out though, so bring a sweater and come on down! 5 Star Cabin Rental is open until 8:00 PM if you'd like to grab a coupon book for some area savings or would like a cabin for the evening!

Gem mining is officially open for the season and the our "Goats on the Roof" are back at our very own "Wild Things of KY!". They're so adorable! If you're in the area, be sure to stop by and send an ice cream cone of food up to them! They love it! This is also the opening weekend for the Sky Lift! Come enjoy a gorgeous ride up to the Natural Bridge!
