Now Presenting Red River Gorge Ranch House

The snow is flying here in the Red River Gorge. You can tell that Christmas is on it's way! What better way to celebrate the holidays than by staying in a gorgeous cabin here in the Daniel Boone National Forest?! We also have a new house called Red River Gorge Ranch House #1! It has a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, stove and a refrigerator. It has two private queen bedrooms and another private bedroom equipped with bunk beds. The Ranch House also has a spacious family room gathering area, a hot tub, WiFi, gas fireplace, and a washer and dryer. It also has one full bathroom with a shower. The Red River Gorge Ranch House #1 also has an adjacent campground swimming pool coming soon in 2016!!! Summer Time!

It's been so busy here in the Red River Gorge the last couple of weekends! July is our second busiest month of the year, and we love it! It's so exciting to meet all of the new people that come down for their first time and also very exciting to see our return customers.

There is only a week or two left of summer break so be sure to visit your favorite vacation place before time is up! We still have a few available cabins for the upcoming weekend if you're looking for a last minute getaway. It was great holiday weekend here in Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge! I'm so glad the weather stayed beautiful and everyone was able to have an enjoyable weekend. It was the perfect weather to visit the pool in theNatural Bridge State Resort Park that opened up this weekend! I do hope everyone had a safe and fun couple of days!

Check out the pictures I posted of a little black bear! They were sent to me just this morning from one of our guests in a cabin. They said "it was quite the wake up call!" These guests made my day with these pictures. Such a beautiful animal! I had heard that we'll be seeing a lot more sightings in the next few years! I think that's so exciting!

What a beautiful day!

I highly recommend taking time of your day to check it out! I'm so glad I found it! For people who have never been to this area, it gives a great sense of what it's like. I'm definitely proud to call this place home.

Perfect time to visit!

It's been a rough start to 2015 with the crippling amount of snow we received and now all of this rain. A good thing about the rain though, I imagine all of the waterfalls in Red River Gorge are absolutely breath taking right now! With really mild temps today, it would be a perfect day to come visit the area and take a nice hike to Creation Falls & Kaner Falls! Tomorrow is expected to be a beautiful day, so come on down and stay in one of our cabins for a night and enjoy some hiking trails before heading back home tomorrow! What a perfect end to your weekend?!

Coming up on Saturday April, 4th there will be an Easter Egg Hunt at Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure! It will be fun for families, individuals, and kids of all ages! Participants will look for Easter Eggs while climbing the Via Ferrata climbing course and hiking along the trails. Hunt starts at 11:00 AM and runs until 3:00 PM! Lots of exciting updates!

We're down to only 18 days left until the first day of Spring! The Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge area is really starting to pick back up! With that being said, some of our seasonal businesses are opening up for season soon and we are so excited! The awesome Miguel's Pizza opened back up for season on February 27th, and the cool Red River Rockhouse will be opening up for season this week on March, 5th! Come on down and enjoy some of Red River Rockhouse's delicious burgers or some of Miguel's sundry pizza toppings! The Sky lift at the Natural Bridge will be opening up on March 28th! Talk about a beautiful sight!

April will be an exciting month for the Wild Things of Kentucky! Our gem & gold mines opens up for season and our "Goats on the Roof" will return! Fill up an ice cream cone full of goat food and send it up to them, they love it! Wild Things of Kentucky has a new contemporary outhouse open to the public also coming the first of April! Whether you have "to go" or not, be sure to stop by and visit Ernie the bathroom attendant. This outhouse is the first of its kind in Kentucky and probably the whole US! The nature center is open everyday, so stop by and see some creepy crawlers or just take a look at the gift shop that has some of the most unique merchandise in the area.

It's also time again for the Natural Bridge State Resort Park's monthly First Friday Seafood Buffet! It will be served this Friday March 6th from 4:00 - 8:00 PM! If visiting, you can enjoy crab legs, fried shrimp, clam strips, fried catfish, baked Alaska and much more! Yummy!

For something exciting to do in the Red River Gorge, on March 21st at the Gladie Visitor Center, they'll be having "Building for Bluebirds". This free event is fun for all ages and helps provide nesting areas for bluebirds. Build your box and take it home to help bluebirds in your area!

All of these awesome things are opening up just in time for spring break! It's a chilly day out but the sunshine feels great! We've got a cold few days ahead of us, but warmer days are coming! They're expecting us to hit 60 degrees next week! Snow, Snow & More Snow!

Happy Monday everyone!

I'm not sure about where you are, but here at Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge, we're being covered up by snow today! We hadn't had much a winter at all this season, but it's definitely making up for it now! We're already up to around 5 inches and a lot more accumulation is expected! Check out our live cam on our website to stay updated on the current weather conditions and keep track of all of this snow! If you have to be out driving in it today, we hope for safe travels for you all. If, like most, you have a snow day, have lots of fun!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!

However you plan to spend this special day, we hope you stay safe! We are expecting some light accumulation of snow today so we hope for safe travels for everyone if you have to be out in it!

If you happen to be heading into the area this evening, at the Natural Bridge State Resort Park, they'll be having a prime rib buffet dinner for this special day! After that, you can go and enjoy the Valentine's Day square dance, also located in the Natural Bridge State Park. The Valentine’s Day square dance will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Woodland Center. Admission is $3 per person. Sure to be lots of fun!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! What are your plans for watching the big game today? If you don't have plans or would like a nice get-a-way come watch the game at one of our cozy cabins. Our cabins have everything you need to watch the big game! They have flat screen tv's, fully equipped kitchen's to prepare your food, cozy fireplace's to keep you warm & a relaxing hot tub to enjoy whether your team wins or loses! If you are planning on coming to the Natural Bridge State Park or the Red River Gorge this weekend the hiking trails are open & it's supposed to be a very nice weekend outside. On Friday it's expected to be sunny with a high temperature of 44 degrees & on Saturday it's expected to be sunny again with a high temperature of 52 degrees. It would be a beautiful time to take a nice hike up to Natural Bridge to see the Natural Arch, Balanced Rock, & other unique rock formations. Or you could go to the Red River Gorge to drive the scenic route on 77 & 715. Along those route's there are many nice over looks such as Sky Bridge, Chimney Top Rock, & other cliff-line views! After a good day's hike & sight seeing head on over to the Natural Bridge State Resort where they will be having a large seafood buffet for the first Friday of the month. With a wide variety of seafood you won't want to miss out on this meal. They will be serving it from 4pm-8pm on Saturday February 7th.

First "big" snow of the season!

Good Morning All!

What a beautiful sight it is here at the Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge area today! We got a few inches of snow and it's a breathtaking scene! See my pictures taken this morning below! If the cold/snow isn't for you, come stay in one of our fully equipped cabins tonight and stay warm next to a cozy wood burning or gas fireplace. Don't forget to bring the coffee with you! It's always relaxing to drink a nice cup of hot coffee on these cold winter days! Our maintenance team has been hard at work this morning getting the roads cleared, so don't let that stand in your way of coming to visit us on this gorgeous day!

The Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge State Park area has had some light snow falling throughout the day today. I've been watching out our front window and it is such a pretty sight to see. I've had customer's come in our gift shop to purchase firewood to keep warm with the temperature's right at freezing! Personally I have stayed close to the heater & have been enjoying my hot chocolate from our Keurig to keep warm :)

December is here!
