Presenting: Mountain Rose Chalet
Happy Sunday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We sure did. Other than amazing weather, the fall foliage is almost at its "peak" for October. It's a beautiful sight. We also have a new cabin on our rental program as of this past weekend called Mountain Rose Chalet. Its name suits it perfectly! Check out the pictures of the cabin below. Mountain Rose offers a private queen bedroom downstairs and a queen bed in the loft for a max occupancy of 4. It has 1 full bathroom downstairs and a half bath upstairs, TV / satellite, washer/dryer, charcoal grill, and a full size pool table. Mountain Rose is located on Cabin Country Development which is directly behind our office and Shell gas station. That means you're only a couple of miles from Red River Gorge or Natural Bridge. That also puts you only about 15 minutes from the Woolly Worm Festival located in Beattyville, KY that will be this weekend! Check out this link to view the virtual tour! Snow, Snow & More Snow!
Happy Monday everyone!
I'm not sure about where you are, but here at Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge, we're being covered up by snow today! We hadn't had much a winter at all this season, but it's definitely making up for it now! We're already up to around 5 inches and a lot more accumulation is expected! Check out our live cam on our website to stay updated on the current weather conditions and keep track of all of this snow! If you have to be out driving in it today, we hope for safe travels for you all. If, like most, you have a snow day, have lots of fun!
We're open today until 6:00 PM if you have any questions or would like to book a cabin! Even in this snowy mess we're still renting cabins out and what better way to escape the cold then to get into a nice hot tub or relax next to a warm fireplace! A warm weekend in the Red River Gorge!
It is going to be a beautiful weekend here in the Red RiverGorge and Natural Bridge State Park area. The news said that the temperatures
are going to be in the 50s! That is perfect weather to come down and enjoy all
the hiking trails in the Red River Gorge.
After spending a wonderful day hiking the Red River Gorge
and going to Natural Bridge you can come back to one of our beautiful cabins.

It's almost Valentines Day!
January is almost over and Valentines Day will be here before you know it. First "big" snow of the season!
Good Morning All!
What a beautiful sight it is here at the Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge area today! We got a few inches of snow and it's a breathtaking scene! See my pictures taken this morning below! If the cold/snow isn't for you, come stay in one of our fully equipped cabins tonight and stay warm next to a cozy wood burning or gas fireplace. Don't forget to bring the coffee with you! It's always relaxing to drink a nice cup of hot coffee on these cold winter days! Our maintenance team has been hard at work this morning getting the roads cleared, so don't let that stand in your way of coming to visit us on this gorgeous day!

Season in the Red River Gorge
Since I have worked here at Five Star Cabin Rental I have
been asked countless times “Are you familiar with the area?” Each time I
explain that I was born and raised here in the Red River Gorge and NaturalBridge State Park area. That is always followed by “Can you tell me how to get
to (insert trail name here)?” . None ever stop to think about how the different
weather conditions may affect the views or the experience of some of the other
trails in the Red River Gorge.
The wintertime in the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge
State park is absolutely beautiful. After we have receive a little bit of snow
my favorite places to go are Sky Bridge and Natural Bridge. The high elevation
of both places give you the picture perfect view of all the snow covered hills
and trees. Sky Bridge is a very easy hike at only .17 mile and takes maybe 30
minutes to walk. For the Natural Bridge you can take the Original Trail. This
trail take approximately 45 minutes and it about 1.7 miles
.
Spring will be here before long and we tend to get plenty of
rain which is great for the two waterfalls that are located in the Red River
Gorge. They are Creation Falls and Kaner Falls. You can get to the Creation
falls by taking the Rock Bridge Loop Trail #207. Kaner Falls is a little harder
to get to. It is located off the Swift Camp Creek Trail.
In the summer after you have been exploring the Red River
Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park you should check out Jump Rock. Jump Rock
is located off the Sheltowee Trace Suspension Bridge Trail. There you can go to
the top of the rock and jump into the water below and swim. It is a nice way to
cool down on a hot day. While there you should venture out a little further and
experience the Suspension Bridge.
No matter what time of year there is plenty of things to see
and do here in the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park area. To come
and experience this beautiful area you need a cabin just as wonderful. Here at

Happy Thanksgiving!

First snowfall expected this evening
We've had a chilly but great weekend here at the Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge State Park area. We had alot of guest's come to the area over the weekend to enjoy our beautiful cabins & chalets. It was definitely a great weekend to enjoy the cozy fireplaces & the outdoor hot tubs our cabins have to offer. There was also several familar faces that we seen this weekend. We alway's enjoy having our return customer's come back & see us, as well as our new guest's!

Upcoming Event!

We're half way through November! Not much longer until the holidays are upon us! We're pretty excited about them here at Five Star! We meet a lot of great people during that time, and of course, it's the perfect time to come spend time with your loved ones in one of our many beautiful cabins! Speaking of the holidays, Natural Bridge State Resort Park would like to invite everyone to A Down Home, Appalachian Christmas! It's December 13, 2014 from 8:00 A.M. - 10:30 P.M. There are a lot of fun events that day for the whole family, so if you don't already have a reservations for those dates, now's the time to do so! It Is Time For The Holidays
October has come and gone and now it’s that time of year again when we get carried away with all the upcoming holidays and the festivities that come with this time of year. However don’t forget to take time out from all the parties and merriment to come visit us at Five Star Cabin Rentals in the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge area.
All of leaves are now falling from the trees here in the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park but allow me to let you in on a little “secret” this is a beautiful time to be in the Gorge. With all the trees bare you can marvel at all the magnificent cliff lines that the Gorge has. Then when we finally get some snow here in the area it is like being in a winter wonderland right out of a painting or movie.
We also have some exciting news! Here at Five Star Cabin Rentals we have added another cabin called Enchanted Forest to our company! Enchanted Forest is not yet on our website but you can call our office at 1(606)663-8858 and we would be more than happy to tell you about it.
So if you haven’t already, be sure to book your next vacation in one of our stunning cabins or chalets. What better way to get away and relax then by renting a cabin in the Red River Gorge and sitting by the fireplace and drinking hot chocolate. Be sure to ask the vacation specialist if there are any activities going on in the area. Although Hoedown Island has shut down for the season they still have the dances in the Activity Center in the Natural Bridge State Park on certain weekends.

November's Finally Here
Our busy October season has come & gone once again here at Five Star Cabin Rental. It has been a wonderful fall season here at the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge area. We have enjoyed seeing our repeat customer's that come to see the beauty this area has to offer in October, go rock climbing, & of course enjoy it all while staying in one of our beautiful log cabins.

Happy Halloween Everyone
Happy Halloween! And what a start to this holiday weekend! We’ve got SNOW in our forecast!! Not expecting any accumulation though! It’s the perfect time to come curl up with some hot chocolate next to the fireplace in one of our cabins! That sounds like a perfect weekend to me! We’ve still got quite a bit of color on the trees to see also, so bundle up and take one of our many breathtaking hikes in the area while you’re here!
We took a new cabin on board here at Five Star! It’s a beautiful little cabin for two called Beary Cozy! We don’t have pictures up just yet but it’s fully equipped with everything you’d want in a cabin! Also, the location couldn’t be better! There are 3 chalets, Beary Nice, Beary Secluded and Beary Cozy (new one) that are within walking distance of each other. They’re perfect for families or a small cluster of families. Red River Mountain is located directly across the road from Route 77 (Nada Tunnel/Red River Gorge), which is one entrance to the Red River Gorge, so you’re close to hiking and all that the Gorge offers!
If you couldn’t make it down to see the fall colors, don’t be sad! The winter time is just as great of a time to visit Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge! The leaves are gone and you can see the majestic cliff lines! We offer cabins with breathtaking views to show off those cliff lines also!
Don’t forget to stop by our Wild Things! Of KY gift shop! It stays open year around and offers some of the most unique and perfect stocking stuffers for everyone on your list! They offer everything from local honey (in gorgeous fancy jars, 8 and 16 ounces) to hand made woven baskets to take home gem mine bags! They have a little bit of everything, so be sure to stop by and see them!
