It is a bit chilly today in the Red River Gorge Geological Area. Winter has finally found us! We're supposed to have some absolutely frigid temperatures in the next few days! Despite the temperatures, there is still a lot to see at Natural Bridge and the Red River Gorge this time of year. You can see the Red River Gorge without even leaving the comfort of your warm car! There is a forty-five to sixty minute driving loop you can use to see all the wonderful sights of the Gorge! You can drive through Nada Tunnel, a man-made tunnel that a train used to go through!

We still have the 'Celebration Promo' running through the months of January and February. All you have to do is call our office and book two nights in a cabin and you can receive a third night for free! Your stay must be consecutive, cannot fall on a holiday weekend or weekday (Valentine's Day or President's Day), and can only be used on new reservations only.

We also have the 'Be My Valentine' promo as well. If you book two nights for Valentine's Day weekend, you could receive your third night for only $98.00! Last minute cancellation!

Good afternoon! We've had a last minute cancellation for our "Deer Track Falls Country Home" for this upcoming weekend (October 23-25). Deer Track Falls can hold up to six guests, it is situated on 5 acres of land, and is only a few minutes drive from the Natural Bridge State Park & Red River Gorge. Check out this link for more information! Deer Track Falls is a brick home that is tastefully designed like a cabin. It offers all the same amenities as a cabin such as a hot tub on the deck, fireplace, outdoor fire pit, etc. Right now is the perfect time to visit the area if you want to see something spectacular!  The foliage is filled with yellows, oranges, and reds and the weather has been perfect. They're calling for it to be close to the 80's this weekend! Grab a few friends and some family and head our way. There is a local festival in Lee County (Beattyville, KY) called the Woolly Worm Festival and it's only a 15 minute drive that you can go and check out while you're here visiting. Summer Time!

It's been so busy here in the Red River Gorge the last couple of weekends! July is our second busiest month of the year, and we love it! It's so exciting to meet all of the new people that come down for their first time and also very exciting to see our return customers.

There is only a week or two left of summer break so be sure to visit your favorite vacation place before time is up! We still have a few available cabins for the upcoming weekend if you're looking for a last minute getaway. There are all kinds of fun things for the kids in the area, so try and make Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge part of your summer vacation plans. Good Morning! What an awesome day it will be! We're expecting temperatures in the mid 50's and no rain in sight today! What a perfect day to come explore the Natural Bridge and enjoy the many trails of Red River Gorge! 

Just a bit of information to share today. The Gladie Learning Center in the Red River Gorge is temporarily closed to public visitation. Forest Service officials decided to close the center due to power line maintenance and construction needs.. The center is expected to reopen on March 9, resuming the summer schedule for visitation from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.

Maps, firewood permits, and recreation fee passes for back country camping on the national forest lands in the Red River Gorge are available at the Stanton office, 705 West College Avenue. Recreational fee passes are also available at several convenience store locations in the area. 


Next weekend at the Natural Bridge State Resort Park in the Twin Arches Restaurant, they'll be holding a special Valentines Day dinner! Bring your sweetheart down and grab some dinner! They'll also be hosting they're annual Valentines Day Dance that's fun for everyone! After all the excitement for the day, you can nestle into one of our many luxurious cabins for the evening! Fully equipped with fireplaces, Jacuzzi's, hot tubs, WiFi, full kitchens, pool tables, fire pits, etc,. it's sure to be the perfect ending to a romantic getaway! <3

Another month has come and gone already! But you know what that means! We're that much to closer warmer weather!! November's Finally Here

Our busy October season has come & gone once again here at Five Star Cabin Rental. It has been a wonderful fall season here at the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge area. We have enjoyed seeing our repeat customer's that come to see the beauty this area has to offer in October, go rock climbing, & of course enjoy it all while staying in one of our beautiful log cabins.

November is already showing to be a busy month as well. Our weekend's are looking to be very busy & of course for the Thanksgiving holiday as well. Our cabins and chalets are available to rent & enjoy all year round. The hot tubs are always available & the fireplaces are during the winter months. The Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge trails are still open even with the chilly weather. If you would like to hike to the Natural Bridge, take a drive through the scenic Route 77 loop, or take a short hike on one of the many trails in the Red River Gorge you still can. If your in the area make sure to stop by Wildthing's of Ky where you can gem mine, see the wildlife exhibit, & unique items in their gift shop. Good-bye October. Hello November

Wow! I can’t believe October is just about over! It has been a wonderful and very busy month for us here at Five Star Cabin Rentals in the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge area. We have had a fantastic time getting to meet and help all of the guest that have come to experience the beauty that the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge holds this time of year.

This weekend the weather is supposed to be a little on the cold side and what better way to stay warm than hiking! We still have a few cabins open for this weekend so if you are wanting to plan a last minute trip you we still have Elk Lodge B, and Romantic Mountain Fantasy open. They won’t last long so I would try to make a reservation as soon as possible.

Fall Fun!

It is finally October! We have been staying very busy here at Five Star Cabin Rental taking reservations and  answering questions to help our guest find the best cabin to stay at while they come to The Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park. We always do everything in our power to help you find your perfect mountain getaway.

A popular question we have been getting recently has been about fireplaces. The good news is all of our cabins have a fireplace. The greater part of them are either electric or gas. However our Secluded Serenity Falls, The Cliffs at Hickory Ridge, and Deer Track Falls Country Home all have wood fireplaces. Our Bear Run Chalet has a wood burning stove. Another popular feature everyone is looking for is a fire pit. Everyone always loves to sit around a campfire when it starts to get cool out and sing campfire songs, tell ghost stories, and make smores. Luckily the majority of our cabins all have a fire pit area. However with being in the Daniel Boone National Forest and around Natural Bridge State Park you have to be extra careful in the fall time with fires. When the leaves start to get dry they can ignite easier. Always make sure there is no fire ban in place before you decide to roast some marshmallows and hot dogs.

We also have some exciting news from Natural Bridge State Park. On Oct.17-18, 2014 starting at around 7pm and going till 9pm you will be able to ride the sky lift to the top of Natural Bridge and experience that by the moonlight. The cost will be $15 per person. Talk about a fun experience with your whole family or maybe a little romantic trip. Don’t forget your flash light though, it will get dark.

Cooler temps & a busy weekend!

September has flew by & I can not believe that tomorrow will be October 1st. At Five Star Cabin Rental we are gearing up for a very busy weekend, & for the entire month of October. With the cooler weather, & the leaves changing October is an especially busy time for us! We have guest's calling us everyday that are still booking for their fall break or to come down & see the beauty of the Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge State Park. This week we are enjoying some late summer high's for a few more days! Today the forecast is mostly sunny skies & in the mid 80's. Alot of people are taking advantage of this warm weather to sight see & go hiking at the Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge State Park. This Friday the high will be in the 70's & on Saturday the high is in the 60's with a low of 40's that evening. October is definitely bringing in the cooler weather. This time of year our guest's look forward to the fireplaces, fire pits, & hot tubs that we offer at our beautiful log cabins & chalets. We even have a couple of cabins that have a wood burning fireplace! Also, don't forget about our cabins that offer a gorgeous view overlooking the Daniel Boone National Forest. Our cabins that offer a breath taking view are Sunset Canyon, Sunset Falls, Majestic Mtn. View, The Cliffs at Hickory Ridge, & Grandview Chalet. All of these cabins are located on a cliff overlooking the canyons of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Colors of Fall

        As I was driving down the Mountain Parkway to come to work this morning I noticed that the foliage on the hills around us are already starting to change colors. I know that excites everyone else just as it does us! We love this time of year because so many of our loyal guest come and visit us and we also get to meet many new guest and help them enjoy their vacation and experience the marvel of  Fall  in  the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park.
We have been booking up for October for a little while now. A lot of you have already figured out there is nothing better than hiking to one of the many look outs the Gorge has to offer like Sky Bridge and Chimney Top and enjoy the magnificent view of the trees in all their beauty. If you are feeling adventurous why not explore a trail you  have never been on and encounter a different area of the Red River Gorge.
Also in October, Hoedown Island that is part of Natural Bridge State Park will still be open for your friends and family to take pleasure in. There you can line dance, waltz,  and learn some clogging. It is always a entertaining event and a good time is had by all.
