We have a winner for our "1,000 like get-a-way" on Facebok! The lucky winner is Alice Milam! Please contact our office to claim your free one night rental in the Fox's Den Chalet! Please be sure to contact us within one week (by May 31, 2015) to claim your prize. If it has not been claimed by that time, we will draw a second name! (Just so everyone knows it was fair, to select our winner, we typed every single name that has liked our page and printed them out. Then, Sam and I cut each one out and put into a bag. We then shook the bag several times to make sure the names were good and mixed up and drew a name out!) It was great holiday weekend here in Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge! I'm so glad the weather stayed beautiful and everyone was able to have an enjoyable weekend. It was the perfect weather to visit the pool in theNatural Bridge State Resort Park that opened up this weekend! I do hope everyone had a safe and fun couple of days!

Check out the pictures I posted of a little black bear! They were sent to me just this morning from one of our guests in a cabin. They said "it was quite the wake up call!" These guests made my day with these pictures. Such a beautiful animal! I had heard that we'll be seeing a lot more sightings in the next few years! I think that's so exciting!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

The weather has been pretty wet the last couple of days. It's the second time this year we've dealt with flooding in the Red River Gorge area. One good thing about it though, I've heard several compliments about how everything is so green right now. It's beautiful. The trees are starting to get newly sprouting foliage also. It's a soggy but pretty time to visit.

We just received some new shipments in at 5 Star & Wild Things! of Kentucky for new merchandise. Come check our stores out to find the perfect gift/souvenir! Wild Things has some really cool stuff to do on these rainy days! They also just got some fresh, homemade fudge in. That's always a sure way to brighten someones day.

Warmer days are headed our way!

It's a chilly day out but the sunshine feels great! We've got a cold few days ahead of us, but warmer days are coming! They're expecting us to hit 60 degrees next week! For now though, we still have several cabins available for this upcoming weekend. Do you have "cabin fever" after being snowed in from last weeks snow storm? Come see us for a perfect get-a-way! Load up the family and head on down to Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge area this weekend. We have cabin amenities that is sure to make it a memorable trip! A warm weekend in the Red River Gorge!

It is going to be a beautiful weekend here in the Red RiverGorge and Natural Bridge State Park area. The news said that the temperatures are going to be in the 50s! That is perfect weather to come down and enjoy all the hiking trails in the Red River Gorge.

After spending a wonderful day hiking the Red River Gorge and going to Natural Bridge you can come back to one of our beautiful cabins. We still have cabins open for this weekend with hot tubs, pool tables, foosball tables, Jacuzzi tubs, wifi, fire pits, and fireplaces. Don’t forget that next weekend at the Natural Bridge State Park they will be having their annual Valentine’s Day dance. They will be teaching clogging, line dancing, waltzing, and more. It is the perfect place to go and make memories with your Valentine.

Super Bowl Sunday

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! What are your plans for watching the big game today? If you don't have plans or would like a nice get-a-way come watch the game at one of our cozy cabins. Our cabins have everything you need to watch the big game! They have flat screen tv's, fully equipped kitchen's to prepare your food, cozy fireplace's to keep you warm & a relaxing hot tub to enjoy whether your team wins or loses! Check out our cabins online & choose the perfect one for you. 

On our Five Star Cabin Rental Facebook page we are 70 likes away from 1,000. Once we reach 1,000 likes we will randomly select a lucky Facebook winner to stay a FREE night at one of our cabin's called Foxs Den. It's a beautiful two bedroom cabin located across from the entrance to the Red River Gorge. If you haven't liked our Facebook page yet make sure you do for your chance to win & tell your friend's to like our page too! 

If you are planning on coming to the Natural Bridge State Park or the Red River Gorge this weekend the hiking trails are open & it's supposed to be a very nice weekend outside. On Friday it's expected to be sunny with a high temperature of 44 degrees & on Saturday it's expected to be sunny again with a high temperature of 52 degrees. It would be a beautiful time to take a nice hike up to Natural Bridge to see the Natural Arch, Balanced Rock, & other unique rock formations. Or you could go to the Red River Gorge to drive the scenic route on 77 & 715. Along those route's there are many nice over looks such as Sky Bridge, Chimney Top Rock, & other cliff-line views! After a good day's hike & sight seeing head on over to the Natural Bridge State Resort where they will be having a large seafood buffet for the first Friday of the month. With a wide variety of seafood you won't want to miss out on this meal. They will be serving it from 4pm-8pm on Saturday February 7th.

First "big" snow of the season!

Good Morning All!

What a beautiful sight it is here at the Natural Bridge & Red River Gorge area today! We got a few inches of snow and it's a breathtaking scene! See my pictures taken this morning below! If the cold/snow isn't for you, come stay in one of our fully equipped cabins tonight and stay warm next to a cozy wood burning or gas fireplace. Don't forget to bring the coffee with you! It's always relaxing to drink a nice cup of hot coffee on these cold winter days! Our maintenance team has been hard at work this morning getting the roads cleared, so don't let that stand in your way of coming to visit us on this gorgeous day!

Want to keep an eye on the area? Don't forget to view our live cam anytime, day or night, to check on what's going on and even keep an eye on current weather conditions!

Don't forget, tonight at the Natural Bridge State Park they're having an Appalachian Heritage Wild Game Feast! It is from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM this evening! Be sure to stop up there and have a delicious meal before turning in to your favorite vacation place tonight!

The Red River Gorge & Natural Bridge State Park area has had some light snow falling throughout the day today. I've been watching out our front window and it is such a pretty sight to see. I've had customer's come in our gift shop to purchase firewood to keep warm with the temperature's right at freezing! Personally I have stayed close to the heater & have been enjoying my hot chocolate from our Keurig to keep warm :)
